The Gillette Main Street program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide economic and social opportunities by promoting and strengthening the viability and historic preservation of downtown Gillette. We are an organization that works together with businesses, local government, civic organizations and individuals to enrich the quality of life and celebrate downtown Gillette as a great place to live, work, play, and visit. Our downtown tells us who we are and who we were, and how the past has shaped us. Our downtown holds the places of our shared memories where the entire community still comes together. Gillette Main Street does real work to revitalize our community and preserve our character by capitalizing on proven strategies of revitalization and a powerful network of community partners. Gillette Main Street serves all of Campbell County, providing opportunities for retail, services, and entertainment. In just over 2 years, Gillette’s Main Street program has accrued over 1,300 volunteer hours at a value of over $28,000; had building projects completed in downtown that cost over $1 million; and helped recruit businesses that opened or relocated in downtown resulting in over 40 new jobs. Everyone in our community is a stakeholder who benefits from the effective Gillette Main Street downtown revitalization efforts because it results in a better quality of life for all.
